At war with false noise: I've been involved in albums that have taken a long time to come out before (usually my fault) but this one takes the biscuit! Originally recorded in 2004 this record never saw the light of day and has until now been doing the rounds on the blog circuit and talked about in hushed veneration throughout the underground.

I've had this recording for about fie years now and it still sounds as utterly heavy as the first time I was blown away by it!

RRH played quite a bit in the UK and built up quite a name for themselves over the years, and this record is a perfect distillation of their sound: incredibly slow, interminably heavy and possessing an atmosphere of complete and utter despair that I don't think has been matched since. For me, this record is probably the best document of the UK sludge/doom sound and should be held in the same regard as many others who have came and went since. The bands other members were in/went on to be in speaks for itself: vocalist Peet was in Hard To Swallow and Narcosis, Robbo went on to do They Are Cowards, Thomas and Paul were both in Charger and now play in Ocksen, and Paul Rauschen was in Like A Kind Of Matador and went on to At War's own Gruel.

I'm very chuffed to be the label finally putting this out and opening it up to a bigger audience at long last!

REJEKTS were inspired by this three way division to explore the three sides of human nature through the music. Each track is a unique take on one of these sides: three different voices that describe the same subject from three different points of view. Drawing together the true nature of man."

 This CD contains the songs from the split 7" with Beau Navire as well as the songs of their split LP with Cloud Rat. Housed in a nice Digipack containing all lyrics and linernotes this CD is a must have for all those who didn't catch their vinyls. 

The newly formed trio has 2 members of Louise Cyphre and 1 member of Resurrectionists / Apoplexy Twist Orchestra. The influences of all these bands are noticeable in the three songs on this split. The LC influences are strong here: fast and incredibly thrilling technical screamo/hardcore, that is driven by breaks and rises again and again. Very reminiscent of the legendary Jeromes Dream.

Rising Anger is a young band from Wiesbaden/Germany. Mindfinder, that's how they call their first Album: 11 tracks and 45 minutes of music somewhere in between Melodic Hardcore und modern Metalcore. Lots of melancholia and atmosphere combined with tempo and severity was the goal. If you take a look at the lyrics you’ll notice that the songs have become a lot more mature and personal. Each member brings his own mentality and view of this world on the table. Mixed with a loads of dedication, passion and love Rising Anger is an authentic young band which has no other message then being theirselves no matter what. The writing process and production of Mindfinder took over one year. The album was recorded by Emil of Nighttime Productions, who stands for a modern and clear sound.

ROT - The masterpiece of brazilian grindcore The "old dirty grindcores" contains the complete studio material recorded between 1991 and 2007. The material from CD 1 recorded between 1998 and 2007 include tracks from seven split 7" EP's, two split CD's and the titles from a split 10". Also 7 tracks unreleased bonus material. The second CD from this classic release contains the old material from the 1991 until 1997. You will find the tracks from five Split 7" EP's, from a split 10", three EP's and compilation tracks. All together 150 songs of raw grindcore. They perpetuate the great tradition of old school grind/hardcore like Siege/ old Napalm Death/ old Agathocles without any compromise. These guys sure can grind. Go and get these fucking awesome double CD!!!

Grinding metallic hardcore tyrants RUINED NATION return after a 6 year silence with a whirlwind of precision blastbeats on 'Restart'. It is a shame that this release marks the band's self destruction as the the fury present in the thirteen tracks is truely exemplary in the genre.

The band itself produces a clinical wall of grinding hardcore noise, Markus' vocals are in the barked roar tradition, in places touching on Gride's Iny in sound. The instrumental production is suprisingly clean and precise, with a guitar tone that would be comfortably at home crushing Wolfbrigade riffs switching between start-stop metallic riffing and pummeling d-beat cascades in the same breath. The bass has that satisfying crumbling distortion, providing weight in the background with a growl like tank treads on concrete. Drums are extremely present on this release, very highly tuned toms and snare cut through on every track and the performance is so tight you couldn't have programmed a machine to produce beats with higher precision.

There are some really interesting flickers in style, particularly later on in the album's 40minute runtime, tracks like 'Same Ol' Story' play with some creative, almost progressive slippery-fingered riffing. But it is certainly still riffing in the finest sense of the word, often conjuring shades of bands like Rotten Sound and in places even rolling into death metal territory, sounding almost like a lightning fast Cannibal Corpse with a competant drummer before snapping back to a d-beat or intensely choreographed start-stop section.

This release serves as a perfect burial for the band and while it is sad that they will no longer play together talent like this can't just sit on the shelf and the members various other outlets (IMPLORE, SIX SCORE, UGF and BLECHOPHON) are available to please the ears of fans of neck snapping heavy grooves and spleen-rupturing blasting hardcore!
