SUFFERING QUOTA, the notorious Dutch grindcore band, are set to unleash their third album, COLLIDE, cementing their place in the grindcore scene. With their signature blend of grindcore, death metal, crust, and hardcore, dosed in various quantities, the band is poised to deliver yet another explosive offering, adding to their nearly 15 years of existence.

After gaining recognition for their previous albums and EPs, SUFFERING QUOTA further solidified their place in the scene with their split release alongside PSYCHONEUROSIS and HERIDA PROFUNDA in 2019, showcasing their fiercely unique sound and intense energy. Now, in 2023, the Groningen grindcore unit returns with their highly-anticipated third full-length album, set to elevate their campaign of terror to new heights.

COLLIDE builds further on the foundations laid down on their previous album, LIFE IN DISGUST and is a multifaceted sequel that ties the thread together whilst continuously looking forward. Both are recorded live at the Soundlodge Studio and have artwork created by painter and friend Wokkel. Musically it continues the subversion of genres through gleeful experimentation switching up rhythms, toying with dynamics, texture and track length.

On COLLIDE, SUFFERING QUOTA have created a 12-ton bomb that transfixes the listener, hitting with the crushing force of an event horizon. Containing their signature mix of extreme genres infused with a unique touch of experimentation, they maintain an onslaught of colossal dimensions. With COLLIDE, SUFFERING QUOTA start a new chapter in their campaign of terror whilst maintaining the focus on their distinctive sound.

Greek grind/black metal act STHENO is pleased to announce their upcoming second album "Wardance", due out October 8th 2021 via 7 Degrees Records (LP) and Chaos & Hell Productions (CD & Tape).

The album's 11 tracks blaze a trail of fury by way of blistering tremolo and battle-ready percussion. STHENO has blurred the boundaries between grindcore, black, death and other extreme strains of heavy metal since 2013. The band was founded by like-minded individuals among the Greek grind and crust scene with the intentions of creating harsh music while drawing inspiration from black and death metal without any regards, or limitations, to the structures surrounding each respective sub-genre.

After some line-up changes and several concerts in Greece, Germany, Switzerland and France, STHENO are ready to unleash their new album "Wardance", which features Christian Chaco, frontman of German death-grinders KEITZER, on vocals. Produced by Stelios "Stelth" Koslidis, the record is a war-themed concept album which is bound to catapult the band into the higher echelon of extreme underground metal.

To keep it extremely unrelenting without being stagnant and too monotonous is a difficult art form, but STHENO manages to stay away from all this and delivers an album full of metallic mayhem while keeping it fresh and dynamic at the same time.

For “In Fear We Trust”, PSYCHONEUROSIS recorded a cover of Extreme Noise Terror’s song “Believe What I Say”. In addition to that they added the previously unreleased, full on grindstomper “Where Are We Heading”.

HERIDA PROFUNDA’s tracks were recorded live at 161 Festival in Poland. Three of the four blistering, unadulterated grindcore tracks will eventually be recorded for a 2nd full-length but are released in their purest form to give a taste of what to expect in the future. The studio version of “Alerta 161”, previously released on their split with Hellbastard, was added as a political statement.

The tracks on this split from SUFFERING QUOTA were recorded during the same session as the songs on the split with My Minds Mine. “Rage” is an alternative version of the song “Anger” that appeared first on their critically acclaimed, sophomore album “Life in Disgust”. “Bastardized Yesterday” shows a development to longer songs with more elements of death metal and hardcore that was further explored on “Life in Disgust”.

SERPENT EATER know exactly who they are and what they are doing on 'Vanitas'. Opening with a stomping black metal crusher of a riff overlaid with cackling screams and ripping double kicks, this is blackened crust at it's most operatic and metallic.

The production and performances here are supremely polished and well rehearsed, there isn't so much as a squeak of feedback that feels out of place.

Soundwise SERPENT EATER lean heavily on the black metal side, with rocking black'n'roll sections interspersed with huge sounding blasts and absolutely punishing double kick drums.

Their riffs are certainly serpentine as well, meandering around and over the drums like the coils of a resting python, springing to life for moments of attack before coiling back in on themselves.

Vocally they range from the head tilted back howling screams of black metal to almost guttural death growls, this is used almost instrumentally to add dynamics to their compositions.

This is a professional and expertly performed and produced release that sees SERPENT EATER sounding like a true venue destroyer, certainly a band at the very top of their game and worth catching!

Dutch nefarious noisemakers SUFFERING QUOTA are releasing their sophomore album... titled "Life In Disgust" through Loner Cult Records, Dawnbreed records, Mono Caníbal and 7DegreesRecords on vinyl and on cassette through Tartarus Records. 

The release contains an expansion on their blistering grindcore sound, seeking influences beyond and creating a rattling, crushing force that will not only go beyond the beaten path, but deconstruct it all the way through. 

SUFFERING QUOTA is a grindcore band from Groningen, The Netherlands, mixing elements of crust and death metal into their sound. Through a few line-up changes on bass and vocals the band is back with a more eclectic sound, yet they managed to remain a solid live act through the years.

Schönesende is the solo project of Matthew Bunkell, known for his work with Light Bearer and Momentum. With the exception of Jack Riddleston’s vocals on the song »Rise, Moloch«, spoken words by Joanne and Gary Bunkell and a the voice of postman-turned-poet Charles Bukowski and others, Matthew has written and recorded his debut album »Schönesende« all by himself.

The endeavour, started in 2012, marks Matthew’s exploration of philosophical as well as psychological themes. Over the course of almost 70 minutes, »Schönesende« does not only musically explore different facets of Black Metal, Folk and abstract experimental music, but also immerses its listeners in a multi-disciplinary philosophical discourse revolving around questions about the human condition. Matthew, who in the near future intends to publish a collection of short stories and a novel which tie into the themes of the Schönesende project, cites authors such as Ernest Becker, Allen Ginsberg, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, John Fante and Bukowski as influences for his art. Becker’s work – in which the cultural anthropologist postulates that the denial of one’s death or mortality is a driving force for human behaviour of all types – resonated so profoundly with Matthew that he decided to explore this topic further with Schönesende.  

Just like Schönesende’s music open-minded and diversified approach to Black Metal and its playful interaction with other genres, Matthew’s lyrics transcend simplistic dualistic concepts. »No one perpetrates evilness for the sake of evil. We live in an existence of subjective truths which we will never truly universally share and are trying to make sense of«, Matthew says in regards to the considerations which have informed Schönesende. He is free to admit that while he naturally opposes any form of oppression, he recognises that we are all »attempting to create ideological structures that benefit us and most regularly rob others of their basic human rights.«

»Schönesende« is as much a critical evaluation of ideological constructs – ranging from religion to capitalism and so forth – empathetically approached from the perspective of those who fall prey to them as it is a skilfully executed artistic work of art in which Matthew’s talents as both a musician and a writer are tied together seamlessly.

"The presence of absence" is the second installment of both Seethr (black metal/sludge) & Her Fault (sludge/doom) and serves as a bleak reminder of ephemerality and the panoply of loss and sorrow that coincides with it.

"The Phobos/Deimos Suite" revives the brutal tech-death style of the late 90s/early 2000s and includes ten devastating and mind-melting tracks! Featuring current members of First Fragment, Chthe'ilist, Funebrarum, Benighted & Sutrah, international combo Serocs is pure neural ecstasy! 

The album takes inspiration from The Divine Comedy/A Christmas Carol and similar tales. It is the story of a selfish, piece-of-shit man who is terrified of death. Living in constant anxiety and isolation, he finds himself one night being attacked by sleep demons (mares), who transport him to Hell. There, he finds out that Hell is not the classic demon/fire/torture-ridden place, but Hell is inside our heads. Hell is our ego, our mistakes, our selfishness as mankind and as individuals. 

Serocs began in 2009 as a one-man project by guitarist Antonio Freyre who released 2 EPs and a full length album. The project later transformed into a full-blown international band with the release of 'The Next' and ‘And When the Sky Was Opened’.

"O Nas is a top quality hardore. There are 4 tracks and everything about them just clicks. The ep flows well from start to finish. The band plays tought ass hadcore with a crossover/thrash vibe but they try to put their stamp on it so it’s not just a mixtape of different influences. Some of the riffs sound like they could be lifted from Chaos AD, while some tracks are straight up hardcore. The music do not get stale and it’s amazing how many creative ways they came up with to make this stuff above average without losing aggression and focus. Not a moment of this feels too long or repetitive. On top of it all, fertile vocals deliver the message of strength and resilience without sounding pretentious. SEPUTUS is a long-running extreme metal collaboration between instrumentalist Steve Schwegler and vocalist Doug Moore, both currently of New York experimental metal act PYRRHON. MAN DOES NOT GIVE, their first officially-released LP, is a terrifying plunge into the depths of dissonant '90s-era American death metal, tempered by black metal melancholia and braced by elements of grind, thrash, and industrial noise. As carefully textured as it is ferociously direct, MAN DOES NOT GIVE offers a unique and vivid reflection of the ugliness and sorrow that pervade modern life.

SERPENT EATER, based out of Cologne, Germany, has been plodding forward with its current lineup since early 2012. With members hailing from HAMMERHEAD (Ger), TUMULT (Ger), DASKRILL (Ger) and THROATS (UK), SERPENT EATER has been well rooted in the DIY Hardcore Punk scene for ages. Living on anger, SERPENT EATER is fueled, not dispirited, by life’s experiences and struggles. Fuel Of Death is the second LP by Sin Logica from Lucerne / Switzerland. The band has been around since ages and has released two singles and one LP so far. Now, Fuel Of Death – 12 songs, stomping hardcore/punk that never goes full speed ahead. The dirty rocking stuff has definitively influenced these people and the Motörhead shirt on the backcover makes a lot of sense. 

A trio of unassuming brothers from Cork via County Wexford, Síoraí Geimhreadh (which means "Eternal Winter" in Irish and is pronounced Sheery Geevra) are now over a decade into their obscure existence. Beginning as a black metal outfit, their current sound is informed by doom and noise rock, but beholden to their own experimental impulses rather than any genre norms. Siorai Geimhreadh's approach intentionally avoids specific genre definition or stylistic markers, instead embracing a sense of openness in their playing. While their music is heavy, intense and noisy, they never strictly follow any one way of playing or attempt to work within a specific style. Instead, they work to create a style of their own through a shared intuitive method. Recent releases see the band constantly dismantling and reassembling their sound. Their 2012 tape (which intentionally was never given a name) consists of two tracks of dense, freeform noise rock. Their 2015 album "Not A Room" (released on Fort Evil Fruit) works around a single repeated pattern, drifting out of structure in a departure from previous work, creating tension through extreme repetition, subtle mumbling synthesiser and an uncanny sparseness. "Sitting Patiently" acts as a counterpoint to "Not a Room". It is a return to the more visceral work of earlier releases, transformed through a focus on freeform methods of playing. "Sitting Patiently" is a single track spread over two sides of an LP. Side A is immediate and disorienting, with frenetic playing and a raw vocal delivery. The B side sees the track find a sense of tangible structure, which proceeds to slowly drift apart as it progresses.

Originally released in 2008 by the band themselves, "Primordial Dominion" is a 40+ minute trip of madness that definitely deserved a wider and massive distribution. Skeleton Of God, based in Denver, Colorado, took form from the ashes of Hideous Corpse and helped forging Death Metal and Brutal Death Metal back in the 90s with their debut EP "Urine Garden" showing everybody that there were no boundaries in the genre. "Primordial Dominion" continues this way, a trip definitely without any kind of limitation, incorporating huge doses of psychedelia, mind bending doomish passages and severe attacks of grinding death metal.
The line-up saw the presence of Joel DiPietro (also in Exit-13, Satan's Bake Sale) who recently passed away at the age of 44.

Hailing from Connecticut and Boston, Slow Death is the new band from Randy Larsen, former bassist and singer for seminal noise rockers Cable and Empty Flowers, drummer Matt Spearin of Disapperer, and rounded out by guitarist Jeremy Medeiros and bass player Jesse Sherman.

Hate-Filled World is 8 songs, clocking in at around 18 minutes, and is a relentless aural assault. The mix of old punk and hardcore blended with some good old fashioned AMREP style noise rock is sure to catch the attention of heavy music fans young and old. Lyrically, with an obvious nod to old horror movies and serial killers, mixed with a dose of straight up depression and frustration, this is music that will take you on a ride to the darker side.

SLOWLY WE ROT was founded in the summer of 2013 by vocalist & guitarist Niels, who also played in Worms Feed and drummer Vic, followed by the bassist, Chris.

7 months later, unannounced and without stormy hypes or trailers they sent a very rough version of “Solitary Realm” out into the world. Soon after the band agreed with labels Skin & Bones Records from the UK and Dark Omen Records to a split release with Depravation on august 1st 2014, featuring two of their songs.

The impact of this small preview of their harsh, loud and grim sound lead to a bunch of shows and left people craving for more. The next chapter “Poverty of Existence” was written in only a matter of months, an EP that can only be defined as pure evil. Skin & Bones took the lead to release the tape version in february 2015, followed by a UK tour and a couple of release dates in the mainland.

As future plans developed and musical differences came up the band went through a line-up change. Vic was replaced by Ibn and Andy took over the 2nd guitar duties. Now, a few months later, Slowly We Rot is ready for the vinyl release of “Poverty of Existence” and to penetrate your eardrums again.

Borders can be mental, existing only in our heads, and yet feel as powerful as though they were made of barbed wire and guarded with guns. And then there are the borders that are very much physical, which can have quite visceral emotional ramifications. The furious, Italian, hardcore act STORM{O} is back in 2019 with the new album Finis Terrae out on October 4th via Moment Of Collapse records.

If the previous record Ere was an all-out cross section of everyday life presented with audacious, pained rage, Finis Terrae takes on the nonsensical reality of our society. “We're constantly looking for borders, creating boundaries where there are none. Just as the ancients established the finis terrae, or the end of the known world where there was nothing left for them to conquer, so do we exclude the existence of what we cannot understand, control or dominate,” explains singer Luca Rocco. “Instead of building walls against the unknown, this album works to push ourselves through collapsing borders; there's no end of the world, just as there does not exist an individual ‘self’ detached from the environment and all other living beings. We can choose to be the end of the world or to push ourselves through the unknown.”

In a world where hope is vanishing, for STORM{O}, writing this record was almost a necessity, a required act. “In this album, you can see a growing urgency of expression, and Finis Terrae is more direct then Ere. It was written and recorded in less than a year between long tours and periods on the road, and the clear necessity of saying something surfaces throughout the whole album.”

Working with Soft Moon’s producer and sound engineer Maurizio Baggio at La Distilleria in Bassano del Grappa (Italy) helped the band find a more cohesive and mature sound. “After the release of Ere, we played over a hundred of shows,” bassist Federico Trimeri says. “The live experience has always been our distinguishing mark that defines us as a band. During the recording sessions we tried to recreate the same sound of our shows.”

They play a unique mixture of pulverizing hardcore guided by fast, aggressive drumming. Wailing vocals in Italian are intertwined with anxious spoken words, angry shouts and desperate screams. The furious song structures lead to brilliant set breaks that mark the only spots to gasp for breath. The guitars act within the frame of dynamic songwriting that leaves space for a couple of uplifting moments, while the bass adds a discreet noise-rock edge.

The first single, “Tempi Morti,” perfectly represents the band’s sound. “This is the first song we wrote and it can be seen as a starting point to the album. It speaks about a static daily routine filled with meaningless and unfair relationships. From there, we start looking at the boundaries we have drawn around us, recognizing them in the structure of the house we live in, the country we crossed and the cities we walk through.”

Over 12 songs that combine the fury and speed of old-school hardcore with the gloomiest melodies of post-hardcore, STORM{O} delivers another album that is a testament to the underground music scene.

32 minutes and 32 seconds, 15 tracks based on the late 90′s post-hardcore, soiled by dark crust riffs and renewed by an emotionally intensive mood, relentlessly lacerated by a native-language screaming which takes its roots from the Italian hardcore of the 80′s.
Recorded live in the studio in 6 days and mixed at Studio 73 by Riccardo Pasini (THE SECRET, EPHEL DUATH) and mastered by Alan Douches (CONVERGE, ORCHID) at West West Side Music, New York, the full length album will be released in gatefold 12” format, with artwork by Luca Rento.
