Takafumi Matsubara played guitar in and wrote for Mortalized for a long time, and ongoing process during which it was inevitable that some songs were left off from their recordings, a fact that became a regret for Matsubara later on when they quit in 2013 After suffering a cerebral infarction a while back, during rehabilitation and working on material for his new solo album, Matsubara went back to these certain unreleased tracks, and found the determination to finalize and release them in as high quality fashion as possible. After getting all of the underground star-pedigree vocalists, who were involved in Mortalized in some capacity or the other, the line-up got completed with the inclusion of the drummers Hoonee (Banran/Mortalized) and Vijesh (Wormrot), as Matsubara felt that these individuals understand the concepts of speed and artistry, ideals that were integral aspects in Mortalized's existence.

While his solo album was lyrically both beautiful and positive, on Mortalized, the angle needed to shift on to negative and aggressive territories, and the anger and passion provided by each of the vocalists is palpable and present throughout the EP. The six tracks are a pummeling barrage of uncompromising grindcore that flashes past you in a blink of an eye, but which you find yourself re-listening over and over again, to get those certain primal needs met.

Recorded and mixed by Andy Patterson (Cult Leader, Gaza, Eagle Twin) at The Boars Nest in Salt Lake City, Utah and mastered by Dave Otero (Primitive Man, Cephalic Carnage, Cattle Decapitation) at Flatline Audio in Denver, Colorado, Vessel is raw, grimy, and absolutely punishing; the sound THEORIES has been striving for since their inception.

Issues the band, “It’s 2019. Everything is fucked, water is becoming undrinkable, air is becoming toxic, people are on all opposing sides at each other’s throats with hate, the wealthy and powerful practice in profits over humanity, peoples’ idea of change comes from ‘thoughts and prayers’ social media posts, depression has run rampant, and we’re all dying. Forged in 2011, THEORIES released Regression in 2015 on Metal Blade, a worthy introduction of Lee McGlothlen’s (Black Breath) caterwauling guitar riffs, Kush Karimi’s nauseating bass attack, and the relentlessly creative drumming of Joe Axler (ex- Samothrace, Skarp, Book Of Black Earth). The band toured extensively, appearing at Maryland Death Fest and Southwest Terror Fest, and sharing stages with the likes of Goatwhore, Black Breath, Mutilation Rites, Wake, and Ghoul before coming home and refining their sound into something even more intense and inscrutable. After parting ways with their frontman, the band recruited Wes Harrison on second guitar, and created their new three-vocal attack that further adds to the chaos of Vessel, an album that pulls from multiple extremes to carve out its own grisly niche.

Polish death metal veterans TRAUMA are back with new release being follow-up to their 2020's Ominous Black album. The 4-song mini-album Acrimony was recorded in Traumatic Sound Studio in Elbląg during the same session as Ominous Black and produced by Mister and Wiesławscy Bros while mixed and mastered in Hertz Studio in Białystok, Poland (BEHEMOTH, VADER, HOUR OF PENANCE, BEHEADED) October 2018 - March 2019.
